Bill and "Charlie" learned to square dance in 1975 with the Y-East Whirlers in Hood River, Oregon. The caller was Bob Tallman. They danced with the Dudes & Dolls (Gene Noble) and the B-Sharps (Larry Wood). They took round dance lessons in 1976, then intermediate lessons in 1980 from Bob & Mary Ann Rother and Gene & Lois Noble. They started snow-birding to Arizona in 1985 and increased that to half-years in 1991. They still round dance with Kay & Joy Read, Wayne & Barbara Blackford and George & Pam Hurd in Mesa, Arizona.
